We had a joyful service on Easter Sunday attended by over 50 people, some of them visitors. The celebrant was Bishop Patrick Rooke, one of our “swallows” who is helping us out during the interregnum. The congregation, led by the choir, did justice to the traditional Easter hymns and it was a joy to welcome back our violinist Lauren after her maternity leave, complete with baby Eloise and big sister Charlotte who made a beautiful Easter garden during her Sunday school time. Our flower ladies Jane and Marion excelled themselves and the church was beautifully decorated. The traditional plain cross was in front of the altar on Good Friday and on Easter Sunday each member of the congregation inserted a flower into the chicken wire to create a beautiful symbol of new life.

We then enjoyed a delicious Easter lunch together in church, prepared as always by our catering manager Sherlie.
